【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverscarbonsteelplates,forgingquality,intendedforforging,quenching-and-tempering,andsimilarapplicationsinwhichuniformityofcompositionandfreedomfrominjuriousimperfectionsareimportant.1.2Theplatesareavailableinsixgrades,orchemicalcompositions.1.3Whenthesteelistobewelded,itispresupposedthataweldingproceduresuitableforthegradeofsteelandintendeduseorservicewillbeutilized.SeeAppendixX3ofSpecificationA6/A6Mforinformationonweldability.1.4ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.

【摘要】:Thispracticeisnormallyusedforstress-corrosionscreeningforthedevelopmentofAl-Zn-Mg-Cualloyscontaininglessthan0.26%copper.Effectsonstress-corrosionresistanceduetovariablessuchascomposition,thermo-mechanicalprocessing,otherfabricationvariables,andmagnitudeofappliedstressmaybecompared.Foragivenmechanicalmethodofstressing,therelativestress-corrosionresistanceofthelowcopperAl-Zn-Mg-Cualloysinatmosphericexposurecorrelatesbetterwithperformanceinboiling6%sodiumchloridesolutionthanwithotheracceleratedtestingmedia(7-9).Inaddition,thispracticeisrelativelyrapid.Thispracticeisnotapplicableto2XXX(Al-Cu),5XXX(Al-Mg),6XXX(Al-Mg-Si),andthe7XXX(Al-Zn-Mg-Cu)seriesalloyscontainingmorethan1.2%copper.4.3.1For7XXXseriesalloyscontainingbetween0.26%and1.2%copper,thereisnogeneralagreementastowhetherthispracticeorPracticeG44correlatesbetterwithstress-corrosionresistanceinservice(5-8,10).1.1Thispracticeprimarilycoversthetestmediumwhichmaybeusedwithavarietyoftestspecimensandmethodsofapplyingstress.Exposuretimes,criteriaoffailure,andsoon,arevariableandnotspecified.1.2Thisstress-corrosiontestingpracticeisintendedforstaticallyloadedsmoothnon-weldedorweldedspecimensof7XXXseriesAl-Zn-Mg-Cualloyscontaininglessthan0.26%copper.Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSectionforadditionalprecautions.
